Character values such as honesty, responsibility, cooperation, and curiosity were embedded into every stage of the science learning process to foster positive attitudes and enhance scientific concept mastery. A qualitative research approach with a case study design was employed, using observation, interviews, and documentation for data collection. The findings indicate that consistent implementation of character education strategies significantly improves students’ learning motivation, active engagement, and academic performance in science subjects. These results highlight the crucial role of teachers in selecting appropriate instructional models and designing lesson plans (RPP) that incorporate character education indicators. Furthermore, the study underscores the necessity of a supportive school environment to optimize the holistic implementation of character education. Thus, integrating character education into science learning not only enhances academic achievement but also nurtures a generation with strong character, prepared to face future challenges.
Darmawan Harefa Copyright (c) 2025 TUNAS : Jurnal Pendidikan Biologi https://mail.jurnal.uniraya.ac.id/index.php/Tunas/article/view/2909 Wed, 30 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0700 ANALISIS PEMAHAMAN HASIL BELAJAR PESERTA DIDIK PADA MATERI BIOLOGI DI SMA MUHAMMADIYAH KEDAWUNG https://mail.jurnal.uniraya.ac.id/index.php/Tunas/article/view/2441
This study aims to determine students’ level of understanding in Biology learning and to describe the challenges and efforts made by teachers to improve student learning outcomes. The research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, intended to provide an in-depth depiction of the learning phenomenon. Data collection techniques included questionnaires, interviews, and direct classroom observations. The results showed that 72.2% of students found it relatively easy to understand the Biology material being taught, while 27.8% of students still experienced difficulties in comprehension. Furthermore, 83.3% of students expressed interest and enjoyment in studying Biology. However, several obstacles were identified in the learning process, including students’ mindsets that perceive Biology as a difficult subject, a lack of reading interest, and limited learning support facilities. To overcome these challenges, teachers implemented various strategies such as using diverse teaching methods, setting clear learning goals, and establishing classroom rules that foster a conducive learning environment. This study concludes that creative and adaptive teaching approaches are essential to optimally enhance students’ understanding of Biology material.
Adi Firdarahman Sanjaya, Fina Durrotun Na'maus Sholihah, Lilis Nurkholizah, Evi Roviati Copyright (c) 2025 TUNAS : Jurnal Pendidikan Biologi https://mail.jurnal.uniraya.ac.id/index.php/Tunas/article/view/2441 Mon, 16 Jun 2025 00:00:00 +0700 KEANEKARAGAMAN BURUNG (AVIFAUNA) DI AREA KEBUN GEDUNG SBSN DAN MA’HAD AL-JAMIAH UIN MATARAM https://mail.jurnal.uniraya.ac.id/index.php/Tunas/article/view/2982
This study was conducted to explore the diversity of bird species (avifauna) in the garden area surrounding the SBSN Building and Ma’had Al-Jamiah at the State Islamic University (UIN) Mataram. A quantitative descriptive method was employed, using the Point Count technique—a method for recording individual birds detected either visually or by sound from specific observation points. Observations were carried out intensively over three days, during both morning and afternoon sessions, to obtain more representative data. The results revealed a total of 74 individual birds, comprising 5 species from 5 different families. The calculated Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H’) was 1.18, indicating a moderate level of species diversity. The evenness index (E), with a value of 0.74, suggests that the distribution of individuals among species was relatively balanced. Meanwhile, the dominance index (C) was 0.35, reflecting a moderate level of species dominance as well. Overall, the findings indicate that the garden area around the campus provides a relatively stable ecosystem that supports the presence of wild birds. Therefore, this area holds significant potential to be developed as a conservation zone and a biodiversity preservation site within the educational environment.
Sukmin, Ditiyyah Hafidzah, Roshiyah Hilyatiy, Muhammad Zulhariadi Copyright (c) 2025 TUNAS : Jurnal Pendidikan Biologi https://mail.jurnal.uniraya.ac.id/index.php/Tunas/article/view/2982 Mon, 23 Jun 2025 00:00:00 +0700
